In a very interesting article on BBC, psychologist Tom Stafford talks about something that happens to me all the time: I go to fetch something from a room, but by the time I’ve entered I can’t remember what it was that I was looking for. This phenomenon actually has a name (the doorway effect) and reveals how our multi-tasking mind moves (and – in my case – gets stuck) between different levels of hierarchy in the actions we’re performing.
