As a side effect of advances in medical care, with treatments becoming more high tech and narrowing down to the molecular level and specialists becoming super specialized, the patient him/herself may get lost out of sight. Fortunately, there’s a growing awareness among medical practitioners that a good treatment entails much more than a medical treatment; one needs to understand the patient as a whole.
